Every day, thousands of businesses spanning the private and public sectors are struggling to improve the quality and convenience of the car parks on their premises.
Smart Parking has a simple, cost effective and reliable system that can be catered to the specifications of both the site and the business requirements.
Smart Parking uses ANPR/LPR across the UK and the rest of the world as part of our solution to monitor and manage car parks.
Automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), also known as licence plate recognition (LPR), is a technology that reads vehicle registration plates. ANPR is widely used around the world by agencies such as the police force, traffic management facilities, toll agencies on pay-per-use roads, as well as parking management services.
Smart Parking is here to assist you by deploying our market leading car park monitoring technology, our tried and tested management and operational expertise, and a wealth of support services that will ensure your car parking service provides a positive customer parking experience.
With more than 20 years’ experience, we manage thousands of car park spaces for some of the UK’s leading site owners, managing their car parking infrastructure, increasing footfall and revenues and reducing operating costs. It’s a client portfolio that makes Smart Parking one of the largest, most capable and efficient operators in the sector, delivering high quality service, compliance, security and income.
The technology is simple to install and is proven to be a cost effective, reliable way to effectively operate control over parking spaces in settings such as supermarkets, shopping centres, gyms, business estates, hotels, public council-run land, and more.
With any ANPR install, Smart Parking combines our technologies to create a parking management solution that is tailored to each site. By setting parameters and business rules to the system we can cater for requirements such as permit only, staff only, free limited time parking, set time parking, zero tolerance and after business hours.
On behalf of the Blackpool Citadel Corps of the Salvation Army, I've recently had the pleasure of working with Smart Parking Limited for the introduction of car parking controls at the Citadel site at Raikes Parade, Blackpool.
My dealings with Smart Parking’s Commercial Manager, Rachel Howard, have been commendably professional. The team’s extensive knowledge about the law and practice regulating car parking management is detailed and vast; and their manner has been extremely approachable, responsive and helpful.
Smart Parking has also impressed with its resources and expertise in providing supporting documentation required in connection with the making of the necessary planning applications. I've been very encouraged and appreciative of the help offered by the Company in this respect.

ANPR works through the use of cameras that are specially designed to detect the licence plate of vehicles entering and exiting a car park.
These cameras use high-tech algorithms to ensure that factors such as angles and perspective, mirrored plates, special plates, and plate detail configuration variations have no bearing on the ability to scan and decipher each plate. As well, they use infrared technology to detect changing light levels – enabling a picture to be taken at any time of the day or night.
After entering the car park in their vehicle, motorists are then required to validate their presence by entering their car’s registration number into the on-site machine. ANPR-run car parks can be configured to allow for a range of parking options, including:
The data from both the ANPR camera and the on-site ticket validation is wirelessly sent to Smart Parking’s powerful and robust SmartCloud API dashboard.
This intuitive system works twofold – both improving parking compliance by notifying the operator of overstays or non-payment, as well as making visible an array of information around real-time car park usage and trends for future planning.
