They go through the lengthy procurement and due diligence process, resulting in an approved list of suppliers that have been evaluated on suitability, quality and price that is available to all public sector authorities in the UK.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nThis means that authorities across the UK, ranging from NHS Trusts, local councils, education facilities, museums and housing associations – among others – can choose a service provider based on the NHS Shared Business Services’ pre-vetted supplier lists, either as a direct contract or under a mini-competition.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nSmart Parking successfully applied for and were awarded as framework agreement suppliers in three lots – ANPR, Pay & Display Solutions, and Occupancy Monitoring: Tech & Services.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nThese services form the backbone of Smart Parking’s managed car park services offering, and our solution, technologies and services can be easily customised and combined to suit the needs of a variety of different sites. On arrival at the car park, all a member needs to do is open the app, select the gym car park and enter the bay number they have parked in. They will have the option of selecting the free 90 minutes, or longer if they wish, then once they swipe in at the gym their parking will be validated.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nIf a member opts to stay for longer than 90 minutes they can extend their session and become a standard casual user of the facility.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nThis clever solution was immediately seen by Les Mills as the sensible way to provide free parking to their members while controlling any abuse of parking space and still allowing access to the car park by the general public.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nLes Mills were also suitably impressed that our system employs open source technology and can therefore be easily integrated into the current system. As well, the town centre serves as a hub for interstate coach services, rail connections and commuter bus services.<\/p> <\/p>This means that the town sees a reasonably heavy amount of vehicle traffic, and in the interest of managing parking services it was decided that a smart city parking solution was required.<\/p> <\/p>The requirements included a specific set of deliverables including value for money, easy maintenance, ability to be expanded on, improved parking compliance, improved customer experience and better visibility of real-time parking information for both city operators and motorists.<\/p> <\/p>Smart Parking won the tender on the back of our previous track record and the fact that our system ticked off all the above deliverables.<\/p> <\/p>The install will include our latest dual-detection in-ground sensors, as well as SmartSpot gateways to relay the data from the sensors to SmartCloud, our IoT platform. Bega Valley Shire Council were also impressed by our innovative SmartCloud platform, as this will allow them to collect and analyse large sets of data and information garnered by the sensors. This will afford them a view of how their parking is being used, and allow for informed decision making around future planning.<\/p> <\/p><a href=\"\/asset\/453\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"float-right\" style=\"color: rgb(0, 84, 128);\"><img src=\"http:\/\/smartparking.72dpi.net.nz\/asset\/438.jpeg\"><\/a><\/p>A key requirement in the brief was also to ensure that the system installed would be able to be expanded on in the future. This benefit is integral to our system as it has been designed from day one to be a true smart city tool. An install of SmartSensors across bays in the visitor and short-term parking area was carried out in January and February 2018.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nThe Smart Parking solution will serve to provide users information on availability and location of parking spots through a combination of in-ground sensors and a mobile application. This information is harnessed using our SmartCloud platform, the open nature of which allows us to seamlessly work in conjunction with Cisco’s Kinetic for Cities platform.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nThe dual platforms enable the University to not only manage parking and congestion, but also afford insights and a better understanding of car park patterns, with the capability to allocate additional assets dynamically based upon policies.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nSmart Parking Limited are a member of the Cisco Smart Cities Ecosystem which offers clients a fully integrated solution and a risk-free deployment. Located in Queensland, it spans around 60km of coastline lined with unbroken beaches, and is also home to popular tourist drawcards such as Australia Zoo and Underwater World marine park, as well as a myriad of other attractions such as lakes, mountains, reserves and more.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nWith locals and tourists numbering in the millions, Sunshine Coast Council wanted a parking management system that was not only robust and cutting-edge, but was also scalable and able to be expanded on in the future.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nThanks to our relationship with Telstra, and the viability of our system, Smart Parking was selected to supply a car park management solution.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nWith the initial focus being on a targeted area of Maroochydore, Smart Parking are scheduled to begin the install our Smart Park system in August 2018.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nThis initial install will include our latest dual-detection in-ground sensors, as well as SmartSpot gateways to relay the data from the sensors to SmartCloud, our IoT platform.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nOnce in SmartCloud, this information is made visible to Council operators via the online dashboard. This not only shows live parking events, but affords users a detailed site overview, meaning informed decisions can be made around how the status of each individual bay is regulated. As well, detailed reports can be generated, and the Council also has the power to generate customised, targeted reporting themselves, without having to bring in external IT contractors.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nA key requirement in the brief was also to ensure that the system installed would be able to be expanded on in the future. This benefit is integral to our system as it has been designed from day one to be a true smart city tool. This cloud-based system allows operators to set rules such as time limits or bay usage for individual sensors, as well as providing a dashboard that shows bay status, overall car park usage and capacity. We can also produce customised and individually branded versions of this app for those who have specific requirements.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\nSo far we have sites visible in Wellington, Cardiff, Singapore, Canberra, Sydney and Adelaide, with plans to rapidly expand this by adding the rest of our global sites over the coming months. It is located in Fiordland, a World Heritage Site, and every year draws hundreds of thousands of visitors, making it one of New Zealand’s most visited tourist spots.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nThere is a 4-hour drive from Queenstown, or a 2-hour drive from Te Anau, and the country is so scenic that many visitors will hire a car and drive themselves so they can take their time, enjoy the scenery, and stop at rest stops for photographs.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nSituated right on the waterfront, the Milford Sound Information Centre and Café is always a thriving hub of activity. However, the popularity of the Centre meant increasing pressure on the parking facilities. To reduce congestion, get maximum efficiency from available space, and increase exploration time for visitors Milford Sound Information Centre and Café needed a smart car park system that would guide motorists quickly and accurately to vacant parking bays.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nMilford Sound Tourism turned to Smart Parking, who recommended their SmartGuide solution. The recent deployment involved the installation of over 200 of their second generation vehicle detection sensors across all three of the Centre’s car parks. The sensors detect the occupancy status of every parking space and send live data through Smart Parking’s SmartCloud, which in turn feeds this data to the large on-site digital signage. parking system.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nIt will be used at Salamanca Place, Dunn Place, Condell Place and Leroy Street car parks, while the voucher machines at the Domain and Regatta Ground will stay the same.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nThe new system features in-ground parking sensors that can detect the moment a vehicle arrives and immediately notify parking inspectors electronically when motorists exceed their time limits.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nIn the council’s annual report, which will be discussed tonight at the city’s annual general meeting, Hobart Lord Mayor Sue Hickey said it was time to replace the council’s equipment.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n“The new meters are customer-friendly and will take payment by a mobile app, credit card and cash,” Alderman Hickey wrote in her Lord Mayor’s message.<\/em><\/p>\n <\/p>\n“The mobile device app will allow for a reminder to be set to help avoid parking fines when the meter expires.<\/em><\/p>\n“Installation of the equipment is expected to commence in early helps drivers find an available parking space using the new ‘Park Cardiff’ smartphone app has gone live this week.<\/h2>\n <\/p>\nWorking with parking technology firm Smart Parking Limited, Cardiff Council has installed 3,300 sensors in ‘paid-for’ and disabled parking bays.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nCardiff Council is the first Council in Europe to roll out this technology across its citywide road network.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nCouncillor Caro Wild, Cabinet Member for Strategic Planning and Transport at Cardiff Council has set out his vision to get as many people as possible to use alternative forms of transport.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n<img src=\"\/asset\/507.jpeg\" \/><\/p>\n <\/p>\nCllr Wild said: “Although our priority is for people to use public or alternative forms of transport, we accept that there will still be a requirement for people to use the private car. Given this, we want to provide the technology to make parking as easy as possible, so that people don’t have to drive around the city to find a parking space. “<\/p>\n <\/p>\nCllr Wild continued: “Now that we have invested in this scheme, we want people that park in and around the city centre to download the free app – it is easy to use and will help both the motorist and the Council. Congestion and driving at low speeds significantly increases pollutants form cars, so we want people to find a space and park as quickly as possible.”<\/p>\n <\/p>\nVehicle detection sensors are embedded into the road and detect whether or not the parking bay is occupied using infrared technology.<\/p>\nPopulated with data collected through the sensors, drivers in Cardiff can download an app, called Park Cardiff, to search and view a real-time map of parking availability and be directed to an empty space. The Park Cardiff app is now available for iOS and Android devices on the Apple Store and Google Play store.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nPark Cardiff can also connect users to Cardiff’s mobile parking payment service - provided by MiPermit – which comes with free confirmation and reminder texts.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nSmart Parking’s bay sensor system has already been successfully deployed in Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, South Africa and Europe.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nThe full rollout follows a successful pilot project in which 225 sensors were installed in streets including Museum Avenue and Sophia Gardens Car Park.<\/p>\n <\/p>\nPaul Gillespie, Smart Parking’s Group Chief Executive Officer, said he is delighted that Smart Parking technology is playing a key role in helping to transform the parking experience in Cardiff.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n“The launch of the Smart Parking system is an important step in realising Cardiff’s vision of being a high quality, liveable smart city.
